Today, the elected student ethos councilors met for the first time this academic year. Collective Worship was on the agenda with the new group going through the draft Autumn 2019 Collective Worship policy and giving their feedback on the planning and delivery of collective worship so far this half term. The children clearly shared their understanding of Collective Worship at Lady Elizabeth Hastings as being invitational, inclusive and inspiring and how all Collective Worship followed the format of :
Gather - The next holy day almost the
whole city gathered to hear
the word of the Lord.
Acts 13:44
Engage - Every scripture is inspired by God and useful for
teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in
righteousness, that the person dedicated to God may
be capable and equipped for every good work.
2 Tim. 3:16,17
Respond - In prayer there is a connection between
what God does and what you do.
Matthew 6:14 (The Message)
Send - I have set you an example
that you should do as I have
done for you.
John13:15
We look forward to their input, shaping and evaluating of collective worship to meet the needs of everyone in our school community.
