Understanding Islam

Today, the children in Year 6 visited the Grand Mosque in Leeds. During their visit, they were given information out about the role of the Mosque in the community, what it’s used for and insight into the activities that take place there. Additionally, the children discussed the beliefs of a Muslim and the close relationship between Islam, Christianity and Judaism. Before leaving, the children were shown traditional clothing from around the Muslim world and they were given the opportunity to try some on. Feedback from both Imam Nabilah and the children was very positive and we look forward to welcoming Iman Nabilah back to our school next term.
