Half Term and this weeks Newsletter

Tomorrow is an INSET day, however the teachers will be in school having training! After 10 years I'm getting a new computer but it needs to be taken away by out IT team to set up so there may be a delay in this weeks newsletter, I hope to have it sent out by Friday 31st May.
finally, we wish everyone an enjoyable and relaxing half term. See you all back fit and ready for our last half term of this academic year on Monday 3rd June.

Raising money for the NSPCC charity - unable to upload photos

Thank you to everyone who donated buns and cakes for our charity bun and cake sale and thank you also to everyone who bought them. The Year 6s did a great job  organising the sales. We raised just over £200 thank you.

Open the Book - unable to add photos

Today, the actors and actresses from the Christian Dramatics group, Open the Book. shared the first part of the story of Joseph the Dreamer. Eleven of our children got the opportunity to join in taking the roles of Joseph's brothers. We always enjoy Collective Worship with Open the Book as they bring stories from the Bible to life and share them in an engaging way that is accessible to all. Thank you we are looking forward to the second part next term.

The BIG SING - Having problem adding photos

Today we took 38 children to Leeds Town Hall to join with other children from Leeds Schools for the annual Artforms BIG sing. The theater was mesmerizing and the perfect setting for the event. We learnt 5 fabulous new songs which sounded amazing support by the theater's acoustics. We hope to share the songs we learnt during a celebration assembly next term. 

Climbing - Having problems uploading photographs

Today, some of our Year 5 and Year 6 children got the opportunity to the The Climbing Depot in Leeds https://www.theclimbingdepot.co.uk/ with other children from the Brigshaw Learning Partnership. The children had a fantastic time learning more about the sport of climbing and improving their skills.

NSPCC - Speak Out, Stay Safe. - Having problems adding photographs

Today, we welcomed two representative from the NSPCC who presented information about how to Speak Our and Stay Safe. We learnt about all forms of abuse and neglect and what we can do if we feel uncomfortable or know that something is wrong. We also discussed who a trusted an adult can be and the different types of secrets. After the assemblies, the Year 5 and Year 6 children did a workshop where they role played and discussed different scenarios and what they would do if they ever found themselves in the same position as the characters in the stories.

Y6s preparing for Brigshaw.

Today, we welcomed back 2 of our past pupils Harrison and Jack, and Mr Truscott form Brigshaw high school. The came to talk with the Year 6s about moving on to high school and what to expect. The actually made it sound exciting! Harrison and Jack were great at answering the questions asked, great to see you boys, thank you for supporting the Year 6s.
