💃🎤Disco🎤💃
We had a fantastic turn out at the LEAP end of half term Disco, with over 100 children from reception to Year 6 attending. The atmosphere was amazing, and the dancing a delight to watch (I did try to join in!). The children also enjoyed a variety of party games and refreshments too. A huge thank you again to all our LEAP volunteers (and staff members) who set up, supervised and tidied up after the event. We could not give our children this type of memorable experience without you giving us your time, it truly is appreciated.

A visit from Reverend Andy and Reverend Sue
Today Reverand Andy came into school with his colleague Reversnd Sue, who will be working alongside him in our parish for a few days each month. In collective worship Reverand Sue explained what had inspired her to become a vicar. Later whilst sharing lunch with the children Reverand Sue answered the children's questions about being a vicar and lots more. We are looking forward to seeing and working with Reverand Sue in the future.
🎭Drama🎭
As well as sports we enrich our curriculum with specialist art teaching, musical tuition (ukulele and woodwind) and drama. Here hasting's children are improvising.
Elite Sports
At Lady Elizabeth Hastings we value quality sports coaching. Every Monday Leeds United come into school to work with Hastings and Ledston children and run an after school football club. On Tuesdays we have Elite sports leading physical education for Lotheron and Gascoigne and then they run after school rugby club.
Pumpkin decorating
Yesterday parents and relatives of children in Ledston came in to school for a creative afternoon. Mr P had kindly donated and delivered a trailer full of pumpkins. The Ark was a hubbub of activity and if you go in to the heart of the Village you will see their creative designs which have been influenced by the children talking with Rev. Andy.

😀Making friends😀
Today some of our children from Ledston travelled into Leeds to visit and learn alongside children from another School. As the children played together some friendships were made. There are further meetings planned at both school and we hope to build up lasting friendships as we share and learn about each other. Here is a link to the school's website. http://www.ingramroad.leeds.sch.uk
🍎🍏Apples🍏🍎
Did you know there was a National Apple Day? Well ask the children in Lotheron all about it because they visited the Great Yorkshire Showgrlunf in Harrigate to celebrate and find out more. On the timetable was everything from Apple juicing, to learning about the different varieties, to cooking. The day was organised by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society as part of its year-roundork raising awareness amongst children and young people of the role of British producers play in growing our food and caring for the countryside. The show ground's orchard provided an ideal base for the workshops.

🌍Harvest of the Earth🌍
At this time of year we think about gathering in the harvest of the plants that grow in the soil and the animals that live in the sea or on the land. But we also use many raw materials in our everyday life, or to bring joy to our lives, that are mined or quarried (harvested from the Earth itself.
Clay too is harvested from the earth. People have been harvesting clay for thousands of years to make both useful and beautiful objects, ranging from giant urns for storing water, wine and oil to much smaller cup and mugs, or carefully decorated pieces of jewellery made as special gifts.
If you have ever made a gift for someone ou love, you will know the joy that it can give to them - and you.
"There is more happiness in giving than receiving." (Acts 20:35)
🚴Pro-rider🚴
On Friday children in Years 5 and 6 were challenged to cycle at speed and also to a cycling assault course. Well done to all the children who participated, you listened well, took on the advice that was given and all of you improved your performances.

Netball tournament
Again LEH turned out in force at the Brigshaw High School Key Stage 2 netball tournament. With a squad of 16 players we were able to enter 2 teams. Although this is the first competition many of the children have entered they used their learning and listened well to the advice that was given, especially from the experienced Year 6s. Lots of positives to take into our next tournament next month! Well done, everyone, including the cheer leading contingency on the side lines!
