Amazing art work by Gascoigne Class

Children in Gascoigne Class have been working with Mrs Dews to create these stunning drawings of birds of prey.

Working with pencils of different gradings, the children carefully re-created the shades and textures of feathers.
To create the initial outline shape, children used a grid and knowledge of ratio and proportion.

Careful shading, hatching and cross hatching enabled children to create depth, texture and a 3 - D effect.

Amazing art work, Gascoigne. Well done!

Working Scientifically

On Friday, our Space Ambassador, Mrs Turford, worked with the children in Gascoigne Class to conduct a series of tests and investigations to help protect astronauts against the effects of ultra-violet rays in Space. It was a fascinating morning and the children are looking forward to completing further experiments and investigations as they continue to work on the Tim Peake Primary Space Project. Thank you Mrs Turford!
