STEM Event at York
Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths all in one, fun-filled, action packed morning (or afternoon!)
Making a comet!....... Take care when handling dry ice; wear rubber gloves and goggles!
Using Maths in Space...... sort out the essential items and order 1-20. What piece of kit can you not survive in space without? What should you chuck?
Thomas got it right.... and scored maximum points! He and his Dad are super astronauts!
Jack expertly programmed a space buggy to explore the Planet Mars........
Mrs Dews was helped by a very young and talented computer programmer!
Isabelle, Lewis and Harrison made parachutes to ensure that their Kinder Eggs had a soft crash landing. (They quickly discovered that the egg tasted the same whatever the landing!!)
Thank you to all staff at the STEM Learning Centre in York...... we will be back!
Gascoigne Church Experience
Gascoigne Class spent the day in Ledsham Church.
They learnt about the history of the Church....
........about our 'founder' Lady Elizabeth Hastings,
......about the comfort gained from writing prayers for the community...
...and the significance of lighting candles to remember.
Thank you to Rev Robinson, parishioners, parents, children and staff who made this experience possible.
